My sister-in-law recently purchased a BMW 428i X-Drive Gran Coupe (way to keep those names simple BMW!). It replaced a late model 3-series coupe, as with a recently adopted baby girl, she has come to realize the accommodating feature of a hatch-back. Within the last week, however, it has been to the dealer to fix a door that wouldn’t open, and today she was rear-ended, which scuffed the hell out of the bumber (everyone is OK, thankfully). It’s a really nice car, I hope this doesn’t forebode a string of bad luck for her.

That sucks.
What’s next, the turn signals work?!

That car looks so much better than the damned 5 Series GT. Why, BMW? WHY?!

No idea whether “bumber” was a play on Jason’s post, or a legitimate spelling mistake. Also, we’re considering this for our next car.

Well, to be fair, she purchased the Gran Coupe. This is the 3 series Gran Turismo.
Not 5-series GT bad, but it’s not what I’d call a looker, either.

Saw one of those use the HOV lane to bypass an onramp meter. There was only one person in it.

Who would complain if the 4GC/6GC replaced the 3/5 series?

I actually prefer the squared off features of the traditional 3 and 5 series. The gran coupes are lovely but my favorite thing about BMWs is that they're sporty but don't look like it.
